The Rockport School Committee is seeking a highly-skilled educational administrator to lead an exceptional pre-K-12 school district.

Located on the tip of Cape Ann, Rockport is a quintessential New England coastal community of stunning natural beauty. Its pre-K-12 school system boasts both low teacher/student ratios and low classroom size, along with high rates of teacher licensure, student graduation and college-bound graduates. Its differentiated academic programs focus on the development of the whole child in a supportive and challenging academic environment and supports award-winning music and drama departments with strong student involvement and support from the local community. We are a compact district offering big opportunities for our students including international travel to support language, commitment to the arts, music and service learning, strong ties to an internationally known performance center located in town and the upcoming construction of a permanent astronomical observatory. By incorporating our Town within their studies, students are introduced to responsible community stewardship. Students are able to take advantage of local resources with outdoor classrooms in the nearby woods, science projects at the local ponds, marshes, and beaches and service learning projects involving neighboring community partners.

Qualifications: Certified, or eligible for certification, as Superintendent of Schools in Massachusetts; minimum of Master’s degree, a strong record of administrative or teaching experience preferred. A demonstrated proficiency in team leadership, budget management, educational and strategic planning and a dedication to continuous improvement for our students desired. Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to engage with school staff, parents, and community members in a collaborative environment , an awareness of state requirements and standards-based learning systems, a willingness to foster innovative and creative ideas, a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and a laser-focus on the students under our care.

Salary: A competitive salary and benefits package, with a three-year contract, will be provided, commensurate with experience.
