Another Successful Year at the Executive Institute!

|

With over 400 school leaders in attendance, the 24th Annual M.A.S.S. Executive Institute on Cape Cod was another great success! The M.A.S.S. President Eric Conti kicked off the Conference with a featured presentation and panel with new DESE Commissioner Jeff Riley.

Comm. Riley focused on his need to do a great deal of listening and determine where and how changes would be made with the assistance of Superintendents. The first keynote followed soon after and was delivered by author and co-founder of Thinkwell, Dan Heath, who spoke on strategies around the decision making process.

Both days were filled with several breakout sessions to allow members to collaborate and brainstorm how best to improve his or her district. The topics covered everything from developing computer science programs, creating a district culture, virtual learning and legal Q&A with Attorney Michael Long.

After a busy day of sessions and many people chasing down our very own Paul Andrews for the #ifoundPaul Twitter contest, attendees and families were invited to a beautiful reception at the Seacrest Hotel in Falmouth, MA.

Day Two welcomed keynote speaker Scott McLeod who discussed new innovative approaches to education in today’s schools. To view his presentation feel free to check out the link below:

Executive Director, Tom Scott, recognized longtime employee Pat Coroni for all her hard work and devotion to the organization since 1992. She will surely be missed and received a standing ovation as she leads into her retirement.

The conference included a second full afternoon of breakout sessions and lead up to the famous reception at the Flying Bridge.

M.A.S.S. PD Chairman Reading Supt. John Doherty received the prestigious Daoulas Award to the applause of all and was concluded with a powerful presentation from Dr. Darnisa Amante about equity in education.

The conference received great plaudits for the excellence of the keynotes and the broad number of Breakout Sessions around the theme of this year’s Institute – Looking at success for all.

As always this conference wouldn’t be possible without our 100+ sponsors on behalf of the entire organization, we thank you for joining us and hope to see you again next year!
