Brockton mayor discusses ‘huge disparity’ in education funding for gateway city children

Bill Carpenter, mayor of the City of Brockton, says, “Public schools are what create a level playing field of opportunity for children growing up in cities like Brockton, New Bedford, and Worcester. The presumption is that all students in the Commonwealth have the same opportunities and the same high-quality education. The reality today is that’s not true.”
