We can’t watch the horrible scenes in Colorado Springs without reflecting on the level of hate our LGBTQ+ community is experiencing and the impact this is having on our students.
It is inconceivable that young people must live their daily lives feeling they are targeted with hateful and hostile actions. It demands that we all make an extra effort to reach out and support our LGBTQ+ youth so they feel a sense of belonging in our schools.
