M.A.S.S. Announces the 18th Annual Women’s Education Leadership Network  (WELN) Conference

Wednesday March 22, 2023 at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester

Networking begins at 8:30 AM and the formal Program takes place from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Who Should Attend- Any female Superintendent, current female member of the district leadership team, aspiring school and district leaders and members of the leadership team at  DESE. Districts are encouraged to invite their female DEI Directors.

Conference Theme-  Creating a Culture of Belonging

The Conference will feature a keynote presentation by Darnisa Amante Jackson, President of DLAJ Consulting. The Conference will feature a keynote presentation by Darnisa Amante Jackson, President of DLAJ Consulting.  Darnisa is co-leading the year-long Foundation Learning Series that M.A.S.S. REDI is piloting this year for more than 100 district leaders as one important part of the M.A.S.S. REDI Strategy for supporting district leaders to advance racial equity, diversity, and inclusion in their schools. Her topic will be Creating Cultures of Belonging in the Face of Inequities. Her address will be followed by a panel of practitioners who will offer strategies that they have employed to foster a sense of belonging. The morning session will include a student panel reflecting the importance of student voice in this work and an interactive, practical table top break out session. Our luncheon speaker is Kalise Wornum, President of KW Diversity who will address the important issue of Who Owns This Work.Her topic will be Creating Cultures of Belonging in the Face of Inequities.
