“Authentic Leadership: Empowering Vulnerability and Confidence” was the theme of the 21st Annual M.A.S.S. Women’s Educational Leadership Network (WELN) Conference, which drew more than 350 women leaders from across the Commonwealth to Framingham on March 18.
Dr. Kendra Washington-Bass and Kelly Peaks Horner, co-authors of Unwrapped: The Pursuit of Justice for Women Educators and founders of The Lucy Leadership Project, led a keynote session.
Other highlights of the day included:
- Presentation of the Bobbie D’Alessandro Leadership Award to Dr. Thea Stovell Herndon, Superintendent of the Randolph Public Schools.
- Panel discussions and interactive activities featuring female Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents, along with their colleagues from districts throughout Massachusetts.
We are grateful to the sponsors of this event: AlphaBEST, Renaissance Learning, and Wayfinder.
Thank you also to Dr. Lisa Dana, WELN Program Manager, and the Planning Committee for their tremendous work organizing a day of powerful learning, sharing, networking, and support.
