Royalston Community School (K-6) is seeking one full-time, highly skilled Special Education Teacher.
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-preparing, adapting, and delivering differentiated lessons (instruction, assignments, and
-experience with co-teaching and small group instruction;
-preparing and adapting teaching materials;
-checking and assessing student work and providing meaningful feedback;
-participation in/ facilitating IEP meetings;
-liaison and regular communication with families, professionals, and outside agencies;
-writing IEPs and progress reports;
-creating individualized behavioral support plans;
-experience working with students with social emotional disabilities;
-collaboration and coordination with paraeducators;
-collaboration and planning with general education teachers;
-collaboration and consultation with related service providers;
-collaboration and consultation with guidance and other mental health team providers;
-provide expertise for colleagues in areas related to special education (legal mandates, adapting
lessons and student work, assessing progress, grading);
-use of assistive technology to promote student achievement; as needed
-effective classroom management skills and positive behavior management techniques;
-formal and informal assessment of student achievement and writing evaluation reports.
The ideal candidates will have experience working with students whose academic and social/
emotional needs are met through multi-tiered systems of support.
