The CES Board of Directors is seeking the services of an interested retired superintendent to fill the role of Interim Executive Director at the Collaborative through early July 2026.

Overview  
The Collaborative for Educational Services (formerly known as Hampshire Educational Collaborative) is a community of innovative and effective professionals dedicated to improving education.

Purpose
The Interim Executive Director is responsible for the overall supervision and administration of the Collaborative through July 20, 2026. The Interim Executive Director provides leadership in the operations of educational programs, budget development, resource allocation and services offered to member districts.

Essential Responsibilities/Critical Functions

  • Provide progressive leadership
  • Strong administration and fiscal management
  • Dedicated educator committed to ensuring achievement for all students
  • Effectively communicates to support the organization and sustain its growth
  • Other professional expectations, such as:
    • Representing the agency to the public;
    • Attending night meetings; and
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the CES Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Ten years of successful experience as a superintendent of schools in Massachusetts
  • Fiscal management experience
  • Mission focused
  • Accustomed to data-driven decision-making to ensure the success of the organization’s students, staff and member districts
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and organizations
  • Adept at handling stress-provoking factors associated with a broad base of people and time constraints
  • Possess proven ability to manage conflict through collaboration and compromise
  • Experience with managing staff and working with a board of directors
  • Experience in program development and evaluation
  • Strong communication skills
  • Supportive of the use of 21st Century technologies
  • Highly developed personal and professional integrity
