Director of Finance & Operations

The Director of Finance & Operations provides focused leadership in the development and management of the school system’s financial and business operations, including both operating and capital budget development, implementation, and supervision, long-range planning, fund accounting, and internal/external audits. The Director of Finance & Operations also prepares statistical and narrative reports, including financial statements for the Superintendent of Schools and the School Committee, as well as for all state and federal reports. As chief financial officer, the Director of Finance & Operations plays a pivotal role in the development, implementation, and fulfillment of MERSD’s Strategic Plan, improvement goals, and initiatives. Primary responsibilities include administering all aspects of the business, facilities, food service, and transportation programs; supervising both business and operations staff, facilitating the integration of instructional technology; and overseeing the district’s professional program.
